Alex's Lemonade Foundation

Dear Presdident Della, all club members, friends, Interact students, fellow Rotarians, and Cape Bank employees

 

I wanted to take a moment and thank all those who helped set up, operate, and break-down our Alexs Lemonade Stand this past Saturday at the Ocean City Spring Mile Long Block Party. Thank you also to those who made contributions for purchase of lemonade, cups, etc. in advance of Saturday. Finally, a special thank you to Toni Costanza and the staff at Cape Bank- 10thst and Asbury Ave. for allowing us the use of their parking lot and for providing us access to their kitchenette for water to fill our lemonade coolers.

 

Saturdays weather was sunny and warm, a perfect day for strolling the avenue, enjoying the block party, and for giving away lemonade to thirsty individuals.

 

The genoerosity and compassion of those helping and those offering contributions to aid in the fight to eliminate the various forms of pediatric/juvenile cancer is humbling and note-worthy.

 

I am proud to announce that we had our most successful single day fundraiser to date in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

On Saturday May 1, 2010 we raised $950 and we will be forwarding that amount immediately to ALSF 

 

With our three events last year and our first event this year we have raised and contributed over $3400 to ALSF.

 

Don't forget we will hold a Lemonade Stand Fundraiser at the antique car show in June and again at the fall block party in October.

 

Thank you all for your help and support as the Ocean City/ Upper Township Rotary Club- Since 1926, provides SERVICE ABOVE SELF and tries, in our small way, to help those less fortunate and to make the world a better place.
