OCUT Rotary Club Holiday Spirit Volunteers Help Community Families
The Rotary Club of Ocean City - Upper Township (OCUT) held a gift-wrapping session at Salon Salon in Marmora on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022.
This Rotary outreach program was organized by Rotarian Randi Scheck.
In addition, Jack Reischke with Boy Scout Troop 79 in Seaville helped with this and other Rotary projects as part of his Eagle Scout community volunteering.
The Rotary Club provided gifts for the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Cape May and Atlantic Counties and made candy bags for their Christmas Giving Parade.
Gifts and winter clothing were also wrapped for an Afghanistan family now living in Ocean City. He was an interpreter working with the US military and now lives in Ocean City with his wife and four young children. Rotary, along with the American Legion Post 524, the Ocean City Exchange Club, and private donors, continue helping this Afghan family.
Children with “Loving Families in Need Matter” will also be receiving gifts this year from the Rotary community outreach program.
In addition, Rotary has been asked to do a special Gift Giving Project for three homeless teenage girls who are living in motels with newborn babies.
