Hart, John G., John G. Hart, a retired manufacturing consultant and a World War II veteran, died on December 9, 2009 in Baltimore, Maryland at the VA Baltimore Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center. The former Ocean City, New Jersey resident was 93 years old. Born in Poughkeepsie, New York on December 3, 1916 to Frederick and Julia Hart, he is survived by one sister, Mary Hart Keeley and was pre-deceased by his sister, Francis Hart Snelham. He served in the 355th Army Air Force Base Unit in the Eurpoean African Middle Eastern Campaign during World War II. He married Jeanne (nee Frank) Hart in 1944. After the war, he joined his father's manufacturing company, F.H.M.Hart Mfg. Company in Poughkeepsie, NY. In later years, he worked for ITT, NYC; Revlon, NYC; and for a time owned an automobile agency that handled Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Pontiac and Oldsmobile. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Ocean City Upper Township for many years and was proud to be a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a loyal parishioner of the Church of Redeemer in Longport, NJ. He attended summer services at Redeemer for over 54 years, He travelled extensively throughout the US and Europe, logging more than 800,000 miles in over 15 vehicles. He was an avid NASCAR fan, rooting for #24 in every race. Survivors include his daughter, Patti , dear son-in-law, Gary and loving granddaughter, Victoria. A service of Memory and Love will be offered Monday morning at 11 o'clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ where friends may call from half past ten o'clock until time of service. Burial will be private in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, Pa with his beloved wife Jeanne.
